Rahul Khanna also a part of the film fraternity. Akshaye did his schooling from Bombay International and from Lovedale School in Ooty with his graduation from HR College, Mumbai.
1997 was his year when he debuted in Himalaya Putra, which didn't do all great at the box-office, but J. P. Dutta's Border, which became the highest grossing film of that year and earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award. Instead of jumping at all the offers he got, Akshaye preferred to be the focused kind who chose scripts, cautiously placing himself to make a better mark in the industry.
